A woman in Israel had consensual sex with a man after she believed what he said about himself. Later she found out that he lied. (As if that's never happened.)
Did he say he was the lead singer?
Maybe the drummer?
Did he say he was rich and owned a yacht?
Did he say he was from someplace exotic?
Did he say he was a movie star?
Nope. He said he was Jewish.
Sabbar Kashur, 30, was sentenced to 18 months in prison on Monday after the court ruled that he was guilty of rape by deception. According to the complaint filed by the woman with the Jerusalem district court, the two met in downtown Jerusalem in September 2008 where Kashur, an Arab from East Jerusalem, introduced himself as a Jewish bachelor seeking a serious relationship. The two then had consensual sex in a nearby building before Kashur left.
When she later found out that he was not Jewish but an Arab, she filed a criminal complaint for rape and indecent assault.
A racial prosecution if there ever was one.

I read this article last night. I especially liked the argument against the law, where a person said men would be going to jail all the time for saying, "I love you" just to have sex.
Oh, and I don't think he actually lied about being Jewish. He goes by "Dudu," which is also a Jewish nickname for David.
My question is this: Do Arabs circumcise? If not, seems like she could have realized that she'd jumped to conclusions before she did the deed (*right after meeting him*).
Turns out there's more to the story, as always.
