I got up at 4:20 am to take one of my cousins to the airport. Two cups of tea did not keep me very alert for the rest of the morning so at noon I decided to wake up with a bike ride. A hailstorm hit while I was getting dressed. To everyone's disbelief, I layered up and hit the road. The hail switched to rain and tapered off, leaving plenty of water along the way.
I just wanted to wake up, not burn myself down, so I decided to head up Mount Saint Michael and catch the view.
Surprisingly, this being Sunday and all, there was nobody around the place. Services must be held earlier in the day.
While I was going down the switchbacks, the rain started up again and the wind was coming from the perfect direction so that one side of my face was blasted and then the other as I switched back. I was very awake when I got home. But a nap still sounds good.
With all the riding in the rain I've been doing lately, this old shoe dryer from Geoff's cross country days over 10 years ago has come in handy.
